We get it; writing engaging content can be hard when the topic is less than intriguing. You want to excite your audience about your services, but how can you do that if the topic is not exactly trending? We are here to help you make your content more engaging! Keep reading for some helpful tips and tricks.

Learn About Your Audience

You wouldn’t write a scientific article with medical terms for kids, just as you wouldn’t write a blog at a third-grade reading level for the medical community. It’s all about knowing your audience. Once you have a better grasp of who you are writing for, you can start tailoring your content to their liking. Let’s pretend you are a lawyer wanting to market your firm, the voice you use on social media will be significantly different than the one you use for law journals. You never want to make your audience feel inferior as they will be less likely to work with you in the future. So, always write content that matches the targeted audience.

Make it Relatable

If your content isn’t relatable, it won’t get engagement. Choose an angle that everyone can relate to. Now that you know your audience do the research to find out what they like. An infographic might work better for an older audience, but a meme might be the right way to get your message across to millennials.

Make the Reader Participate

No one likes to be lectured. Instead of “throwing” information at your audience, make them active listeners. Ask them questions, speak directly to them, and make them think. One of the best ways to engage your audience is to write the information in the second person. Instead of saying, “When one experiences…” replace it with “When you experience…” Now you are talking directly to the reader instead of to some unknown audience member.
